THE 39 STEPS, written by Patrick Barlow, is an outlandish spoof of the old Alfred Hitchcock movie. Our hero meets a mysterious woman who tells him she’s in danger and later turns up dead. Soon, he is pursued across England by the police and a mysterious spy organization.
Four actors play over 140 characters in this fast-paced comedy loaded with Alfred Hitchcock film references. The cast includes: Mike Krcil as the hero, Mary Young as the three women with whom he has entanglements, and Johnny Molson and Travis Wiggins play everyone else: heroes, villains, women, children and the occasional inanimate object. The show will be directed by Rich McCoy.
Performances of THE 39 STEPS will be Friday, April 26 at 7:30pm; Saturday, April 27 at 7:30pm; Sunday, April 28 at 3pm; Friday, May 3 at 7:30pm; Saturday, May 4 at 7:30pm; and Sunday, May 5 at 3pm in the Peggy Ryder Theatre at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.
