The DFW Pinball League is starting 2025 off with a BANG!This, the 2nd event of 2025 will be our first PUBLIC event of the year.
This will be the 2ND ANNUAL POLAR PLUNGE PINBALL TOURNAMENT HOSTED BY FUN SUPERSTORE (https://pinballandmore.com/)
180 - 200% TGP event!

A MINIMUM of $2200 will be paid out in cash prizes if the event sells out (like it did last year).
Cash will be paid out in BOTH the A and B Divisions so everyone has a chance!
There will be trophies and other prizes too!

COST: $45 per person PLUS platform fees!
SCHEDULE:
Qualifying: SATURDAY FEBRUARY 1, 2025.
Finals: SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2025.
Doors open at 11:00 AM
Check-In opens at 11:30 AM
Tournament Meeting starts at 11:55 AM
Tournament Starts at NOON.
This is a retail pinball business - they close on Saturday at 4:00 PM. Only tournament players allowed after 4:00 PM.
ABSOLUTELY no one will be allowed in after 4:00 PM if they are not playing in the tournament.
FUN is normally closed on Sundays -
NO ONE will be allowed on Sunday except for the tournament players and officials.

Event is limited to 64 PARTICIPANTS.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND DETAIL:
Qualifying is "group matchplay style" on Saturday.
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
--- There will be 4 rounds withe 3 games per round.
--- All significant ties (final 4, last entry into the finals, who gets a bye, etc) will be broken using a play-in game with specific game being chosen by the matchplay randomizer.
Finals is "Group Elimination/PAPA Style", which is similar to the above, but with lower performing players being eliminated as we go forward (until there's a winner).
This means you'll be playing in four player groups on multiple machines.
Top 24 in A will play in the finals.
The next 16 (or any eligible players present) will play in the B finals.
For both divisions, this is the top qualifiers that SHOW UP in each division -- so if someone fails to check in before NOON on Sunday, their spot will be given to the next highest qualifier that checks in.
The B Division is restricted based on rules published on the league website -- many of the top players are excluded from the B Division so that ANYONE CAN WIN!
For the tournament, Late entrants will be allowed until halfway through qualifying.
If you need to leave early, that's fine too, just please let me know when you're leaving.
There will NOT be a KIDZ FINAL / kids tournament at this event.
PAYOUT DETAILS:
If the event sells out, $2200 will be paid out.
That payout schedule looks like this:
A Division - Top 8 paid - $500, $350, $225, $150, $100, $100, $100, $100
B Division - Top 4 paid - $250, $150, $100, $75
FOOD:
Potluck. Please bring something GOOD!
We will probably have other food provided like PIZZA, BEER, and SODA, but this is subject to change, but we WILL have something in terms of food.
People can bring their own stuff too!
We TRULY want this to be about community!
All skill levels welcome!! It's about having fun, eating, socializing, and playing pinball!! We've had players as young as 3 years old & as old as 81 in our leagues. All we ask is that you respect each other, the host's business, and the machines! So, come Join us!
