About this Event
We welcome the community to join us on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024 from 10am - 5pm at the Shirley-Eustis House in Roxbury for:
The Freedom Cookout
We will be providing free tours of the historic, old governor's mansion. After the tour, join us on the lower lawn for a free cookout celebrating Juneteenth, and honoring those who were enslaved at this site almost 200 years ago.
We will be providing the community with free food, lawn games, entertainment, a free book fair, and an opportunity to shop and support the small businesses who will be vending at our Black Vendor Market.
We will be unveiling the work of artist Sidmarie Arroyo who created beatiful stone pieces in honor of 5 people who we know were enslaved at the Sirley-Eustis House.

TICKETS ARE ONLY NEEDED FOR THE TOURS OF THE MANSION - NO TICKET NEEDED TO ATTEND THE EVENT. IT IS FREE!
THE WORLD RECORD BREAKING ATTEMPT ON THE UPPER LAWN
