Visitor Information
Home to Ireland's only completely Walled City, the hit comedy Derry Girls, award-winning museums, and some of the greatest outdoor festivals in the world; Derry is a city that is as vibrant and cosmopolitan as it is historic. Stand on the city walls and you will see history all around you. In the Bogside, it is literally written on the murals on the walls! The city walls surround cosy pubs with traditional music that spills onto the streets, our museums that tell stories from times past, contemporary independent shops and vibrant eateries that serve Legenderry Food - with everything on the menu from street food which packs a punch to fine dining with a local twist. As the primary destination city for cultural and heritage experiences on the island of Ireland, Derry is the ideal hub for visitors to explore the undiscovered North West. Geographically idyllic, Derry is set against the backdrop of the hills of Donegal, the foot of the Sperrin Mountains and at the meeting point of the Wild Atlantic Way and Causeway Coastal Route, offering up a unique blend of city, countryside, and coastal experiences boasting top tourism attractions on our doorstep. And it’s not just its location or its cultural offering that makes Derry well worth a visit, but it’s the unique combination of the warm and witty welcome you will find that makes a visit LegenDerry!
