Returning for our 20th year in 2026, the Maui Whale Tales event is our largest annual community outreach and fundraising event that has grown into one of the most beloved marine science gatherings, uniting whale researchers and enthusiasts from around the world. For two decades, we’ve aimed to educate, inspire, and connect people with the latest discoveries in whale research and ocean conservation and have reached tens of thousands of individuals both locally and globally.Whale Tales offers presentations by leading scientists and visual storytellers, a Mauka to Makai Science Expo featuring local organizations and hands-on activities, a Community Art Expo highlighting the talent of Maui’s artists and businesses, and Benefit Whale Watches hosted by our presenters! Guests can also enjoy special events from film screenings to sponsor receptions.
