About this Event
The Middle School Jazz Camp runs from
June 3rd – June 6th from 12:30pm - 2:30pm
June 10th - 13th from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
This camp is a full 8 days and is designed for current middle school students who have completed at least one year of band. Guitar players, bass players, and drummers must have prior experience on that instrument. There is limited space for rhythm section players and acceptance of rhythm section players will be by band director recommendation only.
Students will:
• Perform jazz music of various styles including swing, latin, and rock
• Learn the basics of improvising jazz solos
• Learn about some of the musicians who influenced the history of jazz
Students should bring their own instruments for this camp.
Piano, drum set, and bass amplifier will be provided by North Naples Church.
On the next screen you will have the opportunity to sign up for the Jazz Camp Only or the combo Advanced Band Camp AND Jazz Camp. Jazz Camp only is $160 and the combo camp is $280
