Business Improvement District, In partnership with the City of Middletown, has created a standing tradition with The City of Middletown's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Parade and Ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. Starting on North Street, the parade heads to West Main Street and draws to a conclusion at Festival Square for a ceremony involving a special appearance from Santa to assist in lighting the tree.This year's festivities will take place on Friday, November 29th, 2024. Live Entertainment will take place at Festival Square on West Main Street starting at 6 PM
Plus The Middletown Recreation and Parks Department will have their Letter To the North Pole Mailboxes at Festival Square! Be sure to bring your letter to Santa with you and drop it in one of the "Merry Mailboxes" (Don't forget a self-addressed envelope with postage enclosed with your letter to ensure safe delivery back.)
Don't forget to make a day of it. Join the Paramount Theatre at 2 PM for a free showing of It's a Wonderful Life! Doors open at 1:15, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
After the Tree Lighting, head over to the Erie Way Park Pavillion for the opening night of the City of Middletown Ice Rink, with a free skate session taking place from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM!
