The 2021 North Naples Church Middle School Jazz Band Camp

This camp is a full 8 days and is designed for current middle school students who have completed at least one year of band. Students MUST play an instrument that is part of the big band instrumentation. Guitar players, bass players, and drummers must have prior experience on that instrument. There is limited space for rhythm section players and acceptance of rhythm section players will be by band director recommendation only.

• Perform jazz music of various styles including swing, latin, and rock

 • Learn the basics of improvising jazz solos

• Learn about some of the musicians who influenced the history of jazz 

Students should bring their own instruments for this camp.

Piano, drum set, and bass amplifier will be provided by North Naples Church.

On the next screen you will have the opportunity to sign up for the Jazz Camp Only or the combo Advanced Band Camp AND Jazz Camp.  Jazz Camp only is $160 and the combo camp is $280

We will follow all Covid 19 Protocals and Policies set forth by Collier County Public Schools including:

1. temperature checks upon arrival

2. masks to be worn at all times possible by students and instructors

3. spacing between student musicians as far as possible

4. eating/breaks to be done outside under our "cooled tent"

5. bell/instrument covers to be worn/used
