About this Event
Get your tickets now for the Final Centennial Science Speakeasy at the National Academy of Sciences!
December means it's cuffing season! As we close out our speakeasy series, we want to offer you a selection of science choices to settle in with for the coming winter. What better way to do that than with Science Speed Dating?
Join us December 6th at 1924 - a Science Speakeasy pop-up - for a lively evening of cocktails, conversation, and discovery. Seven scientists – all of whom are the bee’s knees – will speak for just seven minutes each. It’s fast, fascinating, and fun!
This ritzy evening will be the hottest spot in town for DC’s glammy soiree vultures. Why not pull out the spiffiest thing in your closet and join us? If you've been to the last few speakeasy events, you know we always start with snacks, music, a lovely signature cocktail, plus a few surprises... followed by some swell science wisdom. This time around, we’re going all-out with a SERIES of science guests - because we couldn’t choose just one for the last event of the year!
Tickets are limited! We sold out very quickly last time so be a wise head and reserve now. We invite all our 1920s best-dressed guys and dolls to walk the red carpet for photos!
What can you expect?
5:30PM: Doors open – walk the red carpet step and repeat!
6:00PM-7:15PM: Cocktails, nibbles, and (temporary) tattoos
7:30PM-8:30PM: Science Speed Dating in Seven Rounds! (Note: There is no actual dating in science speed dating. 😊)
8:30PM-9:00PM: Moderated Q&A – including giveaways!
And you'll be out by 9:15PM for whatever else awaits you on your Friday night!
