Manga Workshop/Winter Book Tasting

Info: Join us at the library for the in person program Manga Workshop hosted by *Ivan Velez Jr. Focusing on Japanese and American style comics, the students will learn the history and nuts and bolts of this very popular form of comics, and make connections to their own experiences and cultures as they create their own characters for their own comics.
The program will be followed by our Winter Book Tasting Event where you can try a book you haven't read yet by ordering it from our book menu.
*Ivan Velez Jr. is a Latino American cartoonist, writer, educator, and teaching artist known for the creation of the groundbreaking comic book series Tales of the Closet, and for his pioneering work with Milestone Media, Marvel, and D.C. Comics.
All ages welcome, no reservations required. Snacks, drinks, and some swag will be provided.

Workshop Description: Looking Inward
"Looking Inwards" is a writing workshop designed to delve into the idea of self and self-exploration. Participants will engage in creative writing exercises focused on who they are, who they think they are, and what that means. Through guided prompts, group discussions, and storytelling, this workshop provides a space for participants to reflect on their unique experiences.
