About the Band

That’ll Learn ‘Ya is an American rock band formed in 1985 at the University of Rhode Island. Blending the raw energy of punk with the melodic sensibilities of college rock, the band drew inspiration from influential acts like the Replacements, R.E.M., the Clash, and Elvis Costello. Their sound, characterized by jangly guitars and catchy hooks, wove a distinctive tapestry of melodic jangle punk-pop that captured the spirit of the 1980s college radio scene. Emerging from the vibrant music culture of Providence, That’ll Learn ‘Ya contributed to Rhode Island’s diverse musical legacy with their energetic performances and unique sonic identity.
