$5/$10 - A wonderful night of poetry featuring two fantastic featured poets + an open mic!Sam Morley is a poet whose work has been published in a number of journals including Cordite, Canberra Times, The Australian, Overland, Westerly, Southerly and Plumwood Mountain and has appeared on noted shortlists including the ACU Poetry Prize and the Montreal International Poetry Prize. He is the 2022 recipient of the Tina Kane Emergent Writer Award at the Mildura Writer’s Festival. His collections include Earshot (Puncher and Wattmann) and You Do You out now through Upswell.
Jaden Ogwayo is a poet studying a double Law/Arts degree at the ANU. Jaden's early work was featured in the Write4Fun anthology (Year Nine) and TrainRiver Poetry (Year 10). In university, he writes frequently for the magazine Woroni in their themed editions, including "Time and Time Again", "Home", "Error 404", and "Taboo" (forthcoming), with pieces that explore his negotiation between the competing forces of identity, relationships, and the natural world. Besides poetry, Jaden has published several personal essays including 'PrEP: A Bittersweet Pill to Swallow', a historicisation of pre-exposure prophylaxis, and he is embarking on academic pursuits focusing on gender, sexuality, phenomenology, and kinship.
