Thanks Living Celebration
Come join us for a day of healthful holiday inspired dishes and a celebration of gratitude for these precious lives we each have at FFC's Life Together Center! Our Thanks Living Celebration is a time to reflect on all the blessings in our lives and spread positivity to those around us. This is also an opportunity to try a new version of a favorite recipe. A version free from animal products, animal byproducts, added refined sugar, added oils, and processed foods.
We know that not everyone has a supportive family (mine included). HOWEVER, if you must attend a family gathering with others that refuse to acknowledge the science between food and health, you might as well go prepared with your best dish forward. :)
Please bring a photo copy or hand written copy of your recipe(s) so that anyone can snap a photo of it, if they'd like to recreate it for their holiday dinners/meals.
This event space has PLENTY of parking and ample space for everyone that would like to attend. I would LOVE to see this event have record breaking attendance as we all prepare for this upcoming holiday season. This is the time of year that so many people slip off track, so let's come together for one last gathering in 2024 and end this year with a strong mind, strong spirit, and the confidence to resist the holiday temptations that so many fall victim to. Food can be an addiction, let's focus on staying the course and fueling our bodies with the fuel they are deserving of.
Things that are completely acceptable to use:
- Whole Wheat Pasta, Rice Noodles, Chickpea Pasta, etc (just no white refiined noodles)
- Brown Rice, Wild Rice, Jasmine Rice, etc (just no white rice - stripped of fiber)
- Sourdough Bread or other various Whole Grain breads that are not refined. Read the labels. If it's a few ingredients and all things that you know/understand, it's probably fine.
- Whole Wheat Flours and various other flours - just not white flour.
- Maple Syrup, Maple Sugar, Date Sugar, Coconut Suger, Agave
- Unsweetened Applesauce
- Unsweetened Plant Milks (if using Oat, make sure there's no oil)
- Myokos Plain Cream Cheese
- Vital Wheat Gluten
- Enjoy Life Dark Chocolate Chips (there are probably other brands, just read the ingredient list or send me a message).
There are MANY other compliant Semi-processed foods that are completely acceptable. Canned beans, canned veggies, etc are all a great time saver, just be sure to rinse them well. Frozen veggies and frozen fruit are a game changer for our household! Bobs Red Mill Potato Flakes are a SOLID choice for instant potatoes (single ingrediant: Potatoes).

Maybe you have no idea. The good news is that we live in a generation where so much is available to us simply by doing a google search and if that fails, reach out. I'd be happy to help with a suggestion or two.
