Thank You For Riding Your Bike: Oaks and Spokes' Annual Member Party - 2025

Oaks and Spokes' annual party is a way for members to socialize, learn about what the organization is doing, and vote on the incoming Board.
About this Event

Our Annual Member Party is February 7th!

At the start of every new year, we host our Annual Member Party, a gathering where current and future members come together to socialize and learn about the exciting plans for Oaks and Spokes and Raleigh Community Kickstand.

*You do not have to be a member to attend. This event is open to all supporters of Oaks and Spokes!

This year, we are shifting to a vendor style format with fewer presentations. Oaks and Spokes' two primary committees, Advocacy and Events, will be there to discuss ideas with anyone interested in joining. Our Advocacy Committee will also showcase our new pull behind bike Bike Lane Sweeper. Attendees will have the opportunity to demo it and learn about the member loaner program we are developing. We might even ask for your help in naming it!

Our Events Committee will also be recruiting you all to join us in creating fun, new ride ideas to help get more people on bikes!

The City’s transportation staff will be on hand to talk about the upcoming bike plan, the Downtown Mobility Study, transit initiatives, and Vision Zero. Safe Routes to School Wake County and our Safe Routes Program Manager will also be present to share updates on our recent work, including a pop up crosswalk activity to entertain kids and their parents.

Light refreshments will be provided. For anyone seeking a meal, Transfer Co. has several options available.

All members in good standing get their first drink on the house!

Here’s what the evening has in store:

4:00 PM: Pre-event social at Crank Arm Brewing

5:30 PM: Social cruiser ride, led by current Board candidate, Mike Porvaznik, departing from Crank Arm Brewing and heading to Transfer Co. Food Hall.

6:00–7:00 PM: Guests and members arrive at Transfer Co. Food Hall, social hour and vendor interaction. Music by Drew Beck (DJ Root Boi).

7:00–7:30 PM: Remarks and presentations:Emcee Nick Neptune. Presentation by Raleigh Commuity Kickstand, Oaks and Spokes' Director, Jared Harber, shares updated Strategic Plan.
