Itinerary - Board Mumbai Pune Deccan Express from your station and get down at Thakurwadi cabin station. You need to buy a ticket up to Lonavala station. From Thakurwadi we make 250 meters descend to Ulhas river and cross it near Mundewadi. From Umberwadi we make 150 meters ascend to Kondana caves. From Kondana caves instead of taking the Kondana village route we take the Kharwandi route for Kondivade making an initial ascent of 50 meters and final descent of 250 meters.
In case reservation is available you can book train tickets too. Please bring lunch and 2 litre water. Trek shoes and poles are recommended. Meeting time is 9 am at Thakurwadi cabin station. We shall return to Karjat by 5pm.
