Have you been applying to jobs for over a month with little response? Are you getting interviews but have yet to receive callbacks? Maybe you make it to the second or third round, but do not receive an offer. Overall, are you looking for strategies to overcome these obstacles?
If you identify with any of the above, join the TGIF Series: Career Coaching Group hosted by NYPL Career Services. This three-part career counseling series meets in person with Career Coach Kathy Fanning, who will help you identify and overcome barriers in your job search through lectures, group discussions, questionnaires, and mini-workshops. You will learn and enhance skills that will make your job search more productive and potentially increase the number of employer responses you receive.
Schedule: The first 2 hours of each session will focus on sharing where participants are at in their career journey, expressing the challenges they are facing, analysing them in a career coach-led group discussion, refining various essential job search skills and how they can be implemented to help overcome those challenges. A one-hour break will follow. The final hour of the session will focus on the practical application of the discussions and time to actively engage in your job search.
Important Note: You must commit to attending all three sessions, as well as completing assessment surveys throughout the series. Due to our requirements, we are unable to allow patrons to participate in the rest of the series if they do not attend the first workshop and commit to attending all workshops. We also require that you complete a weekly questionnaire to track your job search progress.
Registration is only required once for the first session (June 12, 2026, 12pm - 2pm), and attendees will be automatically registered for the remaining workshops including the practical application sessions that occur from 3pm - 4pm.
Workshop dates:
June 12, 12 pm - 2 pm, 3pm - 4pm
June 17, 10am - 12 pm
June 26, 12 pm - 2 pm, 3pm - 4pm
