About this Event
This will be a Passover Seder (a “service”) along with a meal. It is a family event (kids are welcome at the parents’ discretion), and there will be no childcare for this event. The event will be 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Passover is rooted in the Exodus account of God delivering the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt. It was a defining event for the people of God, and continues to be today (though we don’t often think about that or see it that way). Jesus was celebrating the Passover the night he ate with his disciples at the “Last Supper,” and the “Lord’s Supper” (or Communion, or the Eucharist) is a part of the Passover Meal that Jesus gave fuller meaning to because Jesus himself became our Passover Lamb. It’s all intertwined!
So, this will be a unique evening for many of us, and an opportunity to celebrate together how our God has provided for us and what He has done for us through His Messiah, Jesus.
Because of space, and in order to provide a meal and supplies, we will have a limit on how many people we can host.
Here are some of the details you need to consider if this is something you want to participate in:
You need to consider for your planning (parents especially, but also adults who may get “Hangry”) is that while the event starts at 6pm, there are several parts of the service that will take place on the front end BEFORE we actually eat the meal, and then following the meal there are additional parts of the service. We likely won’t be eating a meal until closer to 7ish.
I’m sure those of you who are able and get to come will enjoy this, and grow deeper in your understanding of what our God has done and continues to do for us through His Messiah, Jesus. You will deepen in your love for Him, and deepen in your understanding of what took place at the cross.
