The Art of Natural Texture: A Ceramics Workshop with Vengeful Deer
🏺 About the Workshop
Learn to shape ceramics with a texture-focused approach using the Kurinuki technique — a traditional Japanese method of carving from a solid block of clay to create organic, freeform pieces.
You’ll be guided through each step to bring your unique ideas to life, experimenting with texture, movement, and form.
✨ Included Materials
- ½ lb of clay per participant
- Use of basic ceramic tools (metal rib, loop tools, wire, wood, and blending tools)
- Access to heat guns for drying stages
- Water for sculpting and smoothing
- All pieces will be bisque fired and glazed by Mei after class
🕰️ Please allow 3–4 weeks for your finished, glazed piece to be ready for pickup.
💡 Before You Go
- 👕 Wear comfortable, casual clothing — things might get a little messy!
- ⏰ Arrive 10 minutes early to check in and get settled.
- 🎟️ Upon arrival, let the host or staff know you’re there for the ceramics workshop.
