Get creative and hands-on with the soothing art of punch needle embroidery in this beginner-friendly workshop! In this session, you’ll make your very own tactile embroidered badge — perfect to wear, gift, or display with pride.
Led by experienced maker Caroline, you'll be guided through every step of the process: from threading your punch needle and forming looped stitches, to transferring a design and finishing your work into a unique wearable piece. This rhythmic craft is not only creative but also deeply calming — a lovely way to relax, switch off, and make something beautiful.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to thread and handle a punch needle
- How to create looped stitches and work with punch needle fabric
- How to transfer your chosen design onto fabric
- Techniques for tidying and finishing your piece as a badge
- Optional bead embellishment for added flair

About Caroline:
Caroline is an experienced teacher who has been teaching textile based crafts for several years. She is the author of the book ‘Punch Needle: Colouring with Yarn’ and is an exhibiting artist. She is keen to bring traditional crafts up to date with contemporary designs and creates a wide range of textile pieces. She is as passionate about the therapeutic process as the finished result. Caroline is also a freelance punch needle designer/maker for Hobbycraft, writing tutorials for the Ideas Hub on their website ([email protected]).

Parking
Parking is available in The Bell Centre Car Park. Please use the second car park entrance on St Marys Way.
Accessing The Bell Centre
To access the Bell Centre, use the green gate situated at the back of St Mary's car park, opposite the pub called The Cutting Room. Follow the centre round to the rignt and you'll find us at numer 14 next door to the Time Out Cafe.
