Join Conservation Nebraska and Creative Reuse Omaha at Clover24 for another fun-filled, educational event on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 from 11am-2pm.The event will kick off at 11 am with a short presentation about "Thinking Through Textiles" with Samantha Nieman from Hillside Solutions and will lead into a 45-minute discussion with panelists to discuss an overview of the textile industry, the impacts of fast fashion, and solutions for sustainable fashion. Some of the featured panelists include: Sustainable Fashion Journalist, Lauren Bates, Stylist & Community Organizer, Sami Hartong, Sustainable/Upcycle Designer, Joelle Tangen, and Data Scientist, Casey Hallas. Following the panel, the presenter and panelists can answer questions from the audience. After the presentation and panel, guests are invited to bring textile items that need a little TLC to the Mending Workshop for repair!
Learn about the textile cycle then, mend items of your own with supplies provided to reduce textile waste! Mending supplies will be provided by Creative Reuse Omaha. You are also welcome to bring your own supplies to use and share! Light refreshments will be provided by Conservation Nebraska.
