Textile Creation Series: Join Annie Dalton in this immersive series where you'll explore the art of cold dyeing, linocut design, and printing. Join for either the dyeing class, the two printing classes, or take them all! 1: Cold Dyeing (12/9)
Practice, and learn the overarching concepts of small-batch cold dyeing techniques. We’ll use gradient methods to dye tea towels, preparing them for linocut carving and printing in the next session.
2. Linocut Print Design & Carving (12/16)
Discover the basics of design principles for repeat patterns and carve a design into a linoleum block for stamping. We’ll focus on rotational symmetry to create a stamp used for floral and other patterns, which will be used in the following class.
3. Linocut Printing (12/17)
Use your carved lino block to print designs on previously dyed tea towels. You’ll create a finished product to gift to friends, family, or yourself!
Class size/age: Max 12 students, age 16+
Class cost: $40 for Dyeing (1 class), $50 for Linocut Design + Printing (2 classes), or $80 for all three.
Scholarships available, email [email protected] for the application or more information.
