Please join us at Orr Street Studios for an illuminating evening of discussion focusing on the relationship between text and image in the paintings and poetry of Kate Gray. Of her recent artistic project, Internal Atmostphere, Gray says,
"Internal Atmosphere is a body of work that explores the inner conversations we have with ourselves, and the relationships that thoughts create within us. To distill the complexity of human emotion, I turned to the basic elements of art—line, color, shape—and combined them with reflective thoughts. Together, they have formed a body of work, and a book, that speaks in honest tones about the landscapes of our hearts and minds.
"In creating this work, I learned more than art or words could teach. I learned how to listen, to honor quiet wisdom, and to step back into stillness—resting in the unguarded beauty of simply being human."
Light refreshments will be provided. FREE to attend. Doors open at 6:30 pm and readings/presentations begin at 7 pm, lasting about 20-30 minutes each, with an intermission; speakers will have time for questions after their presentations.
