About this Event
The Texas Venture Labs Investment Competition gives away more than $100,000 a year in prizes and in-kind support during its fall and spring competitions, where graduate students from the University of Texas System present their business ventures to simulate the experience of pitching to investors.
Many TVLIC competitors go on to launch their businesses and many others leverage the invaluable feedback and experience to accelerate their professional growth. Successful competitors have included uShip, Ordoro, BeatBox Beverages, Phurnace Software, Qcue, and Wilder Systems among others.
The Spring 2024 TVLIC Finals will be held in Crum Auditorium at Robert B. Rowling Hall on the University of Texas campus on Friday, May 3. The top teams from the morning's Semifinal rounds will compete in the Finals from 2 PM until 4:30 PM with an awards ceremony and reception to follow. The public is invited to watch these aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their ventures.
- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Semifinals
- 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM: Finals
- 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Awards Ceremony
- 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Reception & Networking
Teams will be competing for over $50,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. Awards will be given to the Texas Champion, Second Place, Third Place, Best Elevator Pitch, Best Veteran Company, Health Innovation, Sustainability Innovation and Technology Commercialization.
