Texas String Assembly returns for another magical evening with Sicard Hollow for their debut at The Continental Club Houston! Texas String Assembly
Too grassy for the honky tonks and too amplified for the traditional stages, Texas String Assembly has carved out their own niche in Austin’s favorite rock ‘n’ roll clubs. Since forming during the lockdown in 2020, the 7-piece band of five to ten has blended elements of bluegrass, funk, jazz, folk-country, and hippie jugband music, growing from backyards to bars to beloved venues as they cultivated their “mostly acoustic” Americana sound and garnered attention for their electrifying live performances.
Since the debut album DOGGABONE hit the airwaves, Texas String Assembly has not stopped running, playing 50 shows in 2022–including riding the rails for a seven-date train tour through Europe and hitting the highways for a nine-date tour of the southeastern U.S. With a fast growing fanbase, Texas String Assembly is primed for an exciting 2023 as they prepare to go into the studio to record their sophomore album.
Sicard Hollow
Nashville’s psychedelic punk-grass rockers, Sicard Hollow, grew up sick of any existing institution telling them who and what to be. Now, as they navigate adulthood, they’re equally tired of the music institutions telling them what their music should sound like so they dunked it in patchouli and a skate-and-destroy ethos that brings an enduring sound into the modern age.
