'Grow Native', right...? Well, how about growing your OWN natives?

NEW! Learn seed starting from the beginning from the experts. NHG welcomes our friends, members from the Dallas Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas for a very special afternoon learning how to propagate Texas natives from seed.

First, you'll get a complete overview of why natives - and why by seed - then, you'll breakout into small groups staffed by certified members of the North Texas Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists to experience THREE hands-on workshops:

  1. Scarifying & Stratifying Seeds
  2. Seed Starting Basics
  3. Growing Out Plants from Seedling to Garden

You'll be given a tray of seeding supplies, and you'll rotate among each of the presentations learning firsthand how to propagate Texas native wildflowers and grasses from the ground up. In between, there's a break to grab a coffee from our Cafe, and do a native seed swap and socialize. Then, you can take home your Texas natives! Afterward, there's plenty of time for your Q & A.

All this, and more in a brand-new, 2- hour + experience. Great for beginners just starting to seed: If you don't know what scarifying is, what hardening off means, or never even used a dibble, this is your chance to learn! Plant the seed of native knowledge.

Attendance is limited to only 30 attendees in order to accomodate a high quality event. $20 per person, adults only please. Note that all proceeds are only to cover workshop supplies and support the Native Plant Society of Texas in their mission. If you'd like, bring your own gloves, and wear clothing that's okay to get dirty.

THIS CLASS IS INDOORS IN OUR CLASSROOM.

We'll seed you there!
