Mark your calendars - we're celebrating Texas Independence Day with a cocktail hour fundraiser! The night will include food, drinks, raffles, games, music, and so much more! We'll also be awarding our inaugural Longhorn of the Year. All proceeds benefit the Chicago Chapter's Scholarship Fund.
Texas Independence Day is not only a day to celebrate the Lone Star State, but also a day to celebrate the institution that made our education possible. Built on the foundation of liberty, UT students took it upon themselves to make their voices heard in March 1897 (complete with two brass canons in front of the Main Building!). To this day, the university celebrates the achievements of its students on Texas Independence Day.
In 1900, the Ex-Students Association (Texas Exes) adopted a resolution that states: "Whenever two Texas Exes shall meet on March 2, they all shall sit and break bread and pay tribute to the institution that made their education possible."
There is limited space, so get your tickets soon! Take advantage of the $45 early bird special before tickets go to the regular price of $60 on February 18th.
