Texas HIMSS Advocacy Day 2025 On the Road Again 2025 Return to Austin

On March 25th, the Texas HIMSS Advocacy team will be headed to the state capitol in Austin to talk with Texas legislators and staff to educate then on our healthcare and health IT priorities.

Our focus will be on the following initiatives:

• Artificial Intelligence and Digital health literacy, inclusion and access

• Maternal health and wellness

• Chronic Disease Management, Substance use and behavioral health challenges

The agenda will include

1. Panel and Educational sessions on each these topics
2. Visits with Texas legislatures and their staff
3. Social sharing of what we learned from the day

You don’t need to be a HIMSS Member to attend, just a conscience citizen who cares about our great State of Texas and all humans’ rights to quality Healthcare.

By being a volunteer for Legislative visits we are asking the following:

1. Attend a 30-minute training session (webinar) prior to the event
2. Be available for the Legislative walkthrough on Monday, March 24th, 2025 at the state capitol

By becoming a part of the Advocacy Legislative Scheduling Committee we are asking the following:

1. Attend a 30-minute training session (webinar) prior to the event
2. Provide extra time during the months of January & February to help prepare for the event
3. Be available for the Legislative walkthrough on Monday 24th, 2025 at the state capitol

We will not negotiate a group rate at a hotel in Austin but do recommend you stay in a hotel in the Austin University Capitol District.

It will be a great event!
