Tetsuya Nishiyama, a highly sought-after guitarist from Nagoya, Japan, studied at Northern Illinois University under Fareed Haque and Bobby Broom, earning B.M. and M.M. degrees in Jazz Studies. After relocating to Chicago, he became a prominent figure in the city’s jazz scene, performing with artists like Ryan Kisor, George Fludas, and Buddy Guy, and playing at venues such as the Green Mill and the Chicago Jazz Festival. Currently, Tetsuya is pursuing a D.M.A. in Jazz Performance at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he also teaches jazz ensembles.
