An innovative and evocative dance performance titled "Tethered: A Dance Through Dante’s Vision" will premiere at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center Liddy Doenges Theatre on March 21 and 23. This groundbreaking production offers a contemporary interpretation of Dante Alighieri’s renowned literary masterpiece, "The Divine Comedy," specifically focusing on the harrowing journey through the Nine Circles of Hell.Choreographed by local acclaimed choreographers, Jen Alden, Bayleigh Head, Alicia Chesser, Valeria Fleming, Sheri Hayden, Kate Jacobs, Tamara Moore, Heather Hall Newman, Nina Madsen Puckett, Kymber Sage, Lexie Jo Sweeney, Ronnie Underwood, and Cassie Waggoner this performance intertwines classical and modern dance forms as well as Aerial dance to vividly portray themes of sin, redemption, and the human condition. The dancers will embody the various souls encountered by Dante, each circle represented through dynamic movement, powerful imagery, and an original score from contemporary artists.
