Join us for our Annual General Meeting, an evening dedicated to celebration, information sharing, and empowerment. It's an opportunity to come together, connect with others, and have a meaningful impact on our future.
You are invited to two sessions and the AGM itself! If you are a partner organisation and wish to have a stand please email the organisor. From 6pm there will be light refreshments. On the ticketing page you will be given the option to attend both sessions or just the second . Please only select one option. We hope to see you there!

Session 1: Around the World of Real
Starts 4:30pm (Doors open 4pm)
Experience a fully interactive World Café where you can engage with various teams and campaigns at Real. Discover what we've been working on, our upcoming plans, and how you can get involved.
Topics covered include: advocacy, advice, housing, social care, primary care, research, and volunteering.
Session 2:
Challenges and Solutions: Disabled People, Hate Crime, Community Safety and the Police:
Starts 6:30 pm (Doors open 6pm)
Join us for a high-profile, interactive discussion on community safety. Together, we will explore the challenges and realities faced by Disabled people in Tower Hamlets in personal safety, and in reporting crime. We will critically examine why so few disability hate crimes are reported and solved, and why Disabled people are more likely to experience some crimes. Together , we will discuss meaningful solutions. There will be plenty of opportunities for participation and questions.

Jack Gilbert, CEO Real DPO, and independent community advisor to New Scotland Yard and across east London police.
Panelists:
Superintendent Alexander Ogilvie – leads on hate crime, domestic abuse and other safeguarding matters across Tower Hamlets and Hackney
Ann Corbett - Director, Community Safety Division, London Borough of Tower Hamlets

In between the two sessions, we have reserved 25 minutes for the AGM part of our event.
Our 2024 Annual General Meeting will be a chance to:
- find out more about the work we’re doing
- Meet our trustees
- get information about how Real has spent its money in the last year
- meet with members of the Real team, other Real members and other local contacts
For members of Real the AGM is also a chance to elect new trustees to our board. If you are a member and are interested in becoming a trustee, please let us know via the contact details below.
