After successfully releasing her new album 'Blue Mind' last October, charting to number 6 in the official NZ charts, Tess Liautaud & her band are doing an Otago run of shows to celebrate and catch that summer feeling.Tess played to a packed hall on her last visit in Ophir back in May, and is now coming back to celebrate the album release
The music of Franco-American singer-songwriter Tess Liautaud can not be easily defined. It hangs in the balance of her voice, warm like honey; it carries a depth of raw emotion, delivered with melodic grace and country soul.
Her songs are easy listening, in that Jackson Browne, dreaming of Laurel Canyon, Americana sort of way and together with her band Liautaud creates a sound steeped in classic folk'n'country rock'n'roll, this is music that will grow roots in your heart and lift you up, the way it is supposed to.
“Her new album Blue Mind, is an assured work of rootsy Canterburycana (a genre title we're workshopping), featuring familiar Christchurch cohorts like Adam Hattaway, Elmore Jones, and Jessie Shanks, the shining star here is Tess Liautaud's warm and heartful voice, riding high over her fantastic new set of songs. - Flying Out
