The shallow waters of the Newport News Park reservoir are a paradise for turtles - lots of living space, plenty to eat, and plenty of places to hide, swim or soak up the sun! Did you know we have 6 different kinds of turtles in our reservoir? From baseball-size to football-size turtles (and even larger!), the Park has an amazing community of freshwater turtles to see and enjoy. Meet at the Discovery Center for the start of our "Turtle Trek" to learn all about the Park's Terrific Turtles!Join us for our free educational program 'Terrific Turtles' at the Newport News Park Discovery Center on Saturday, August 30th at 11 AM & 2 PM.
