Create your Very Own Terrarium from Scratch
Join us for a fun and educational event where kids will be creating their very own terrariums!
A terrarium is a small, enclosed ecosystem that you can take care of and watch grow. In this class, we will learn about the different types of plants and materials that make a great terrarium.
First, we will talk about the importance of selecting the right plants for our terrarium. We will learn about the different types of plants that thrive in a closed environment and how to care for them. We will also discuss the importance of soil, rocks, and other materials to provide proper drainage and support for our plants.
Next, we will get our hands dirty and start building our terrariums! We will provide a range of materials for the children to choose from including glass containers, potting soil, rocks, sand, moss, and of course, a variety of plants.

Your Child will Learn about Ecosystems
As we build our terrariums, we will discuss the importance of arranging the plants and materials in a way that creates a natural-looking environment. We will also talk about how to water and care for our terrariums, including how often to water and what to do if we notice any issues.
By the end of the class, each child will have their very own personalized terrarium to take home and care for. They will have learned about the importance of plants in our ecosystem and how to create a mini ecosystem of their own. We hope that this experience will inspire a love of nature and a desire to care for our planet in each of our young students.
What to Bring
All materials will be provided by Epic Art House. We will have materials like Gravel, Moss, Soil, Plants, Decorative Elements, and much more. Come ready to learn, laugh, and spend time together with your family and the community.
If you do want to bring something, consider bringing:
- A unique jar or container for your terrarium. Mason jars work really well.
- Special plants or greenery you'd like to include in your creation
- Special materials like colored stones, wood, or other items to add a custom touch to your terrarium.
