StadtWERKSTATT Berlin is hosting the exhibition "Terraformation Bridging Worlds" Tuesday 13th August at 18:00
Terraformation is a project focused on designing and building a sustainable future museum in rural Sicily, on land overseen by Farm Cultural Park, using natural building techniques. Check out the event details here ??(https://www.mayerpavilion.com/terraformation)
The project is led by the Berlin based artist Andrea Mineo, who explores the dynamics of cooperation and negotiation by expanding the notions of cultural and political spaces in his work. For this project, Andrea has brought together artists and architects he met in Berlin, along with natural scientists and permaculture specialists met in Sicily, to co-create a hub for future art and ecological interventions. Andrea's project is an experiment in community building in challenging contexts, with the potential to become a hub for future art interventions and cultural exchanges between Sicily and Germany.
The vision is to bridge the gap between rural and urban resources, creating a model for sustainable, community-driven development that addresses global issues like ecology and the socio-economic marginalization of the Global South. By building bridges between urban and rural disparities, and between socio-cultural and natural environments such as those in Sicily and Berlin through art residencies, the project aims to equip creatives with tools to effect change and to help revitalize the struggling rural economy.
The exhibition features artworks, ideas, and creative energy from Sandra Chrzanowski, Farm Cultural Park, Andrea Kantos, Vincenzo Fiore Marrese, Vladimir Michel, Andrea Mineo, and Calogero Palacino. You can meet some of them and learn about their contributions at the opening.
