About this class:
Learn the basics of clay from a brand new perspective. Just like a science experiment, students will see, touch and play with works made of clay from wild to store-bought, before embarking on their own journey with making clay objects.
Geared for students from year 1 to year 5.
Age: 7-11 years
Dates: Wednesdays, 30 October –18 December, 4-6pm (8 weeks)
Cost: $120, $70 with Active and Creative Kids voucher
You will not be able to enrol in a class with a discounted Active and Creative Kids Voucher ticket unless you have a valid Active and Creative Kids Voucher number. Remaining balance cannot be used. Active and Creative Kids Vouchers are only accepted during enrolment periods, thank you for understanding.
What Students Will Learn
- Explore and learn about the medium of clay;
- Create form and shape from clay;
- Identify and practice Clay sculpture techniques to create finished air-dry clay and ceramic pieces such as rolling, pinching, scoring, moulding and smoothing;
- Use art and design principles and elements to enhance and decorate their ceramic pieces.

Covid Safe Plan:
Bankstown Arts Centre has a council-approved 'CovidSafe Plan' in order to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and Arts Centre staff. Measures include physical distancing, contactless hand sanitising and regularly cleaning.

Cancellation Policy:
Bankstown Arts Centre cannot accept responsibility for changes to students’ personal circumstances that prevent attendance. Fees are non-refundable and there are no transfers or refunds if you miss a class.
Fees are kept to a minimum and cover tuition, the use of equipment during classes and where included, the cost of tutor fees and/ or basic materials. Fees and charges may increase per financial year. For more information on fees, refer to Canterbury-Bankstown Fees and Charges document
