P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Terese Svoboda to celebrate and discuss her new book, Hitler and My Mother-in-Law: a riveting memoir that explores the intersection of truth—both familial and political—through the colorful and complex life of the author's mother-in-law.
Terese will be joined in conversation by Alice Kaltman, author of . Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Terese will also sign copies of his book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A Guggenheim fellow, Terese Svoboda is the author of 20 books. She has won the Bobst Prize in fiction, the Iowa Prize for poetry, an NEH grant for translation, the Graywolf Nonfiction Prize, a Jerome Foundation prize for video, the O. Henry award for the short story, and a Pushcart Prize for the essay. She is a three time winner of the New York Foundation for the Arts fellowship, and has been awarded Headlands, James Merrill, Hawthornden, Hermitage, Yaddo, MacDowell, Rowland, VCCA, Bogliasco, and Bellagio residencies. Her opera WET premiered at L.A.'s Disney Hall.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Alice Kaltman is the author of two story collections and three novels. Most recently, she’s published a graphic memoir entitled, Alice’s Big Book of Mistakes. Her historical fiction novella, Mother and Daughter Sit for a Portrait, will be published by WTAW Press in 2025. Alice’s work has been nominated for Best American Short Stories, Best Small Fiction, the Pushcart Prize, and was a Wigleaf Top 50 in 2024. Alice splits her time between Brooklyn and Montauk, NY where she lives, surfs, and swims with her husband the sculptor Daniel Wiener and Ollie the Wonder Dog.
