Registrations are now open for these wonderful workshops. Teresa Hughes is an Albany based musician and music teacher. She has worked as amusician, choral director and as a teacher of ukulele, guitar and voice. She completed a
postgraduate Diploma in Education in 2007 and has taught both in schools and community-
based organisations.
For the past 10 years Teresa has been running ukulele and choir classes, weekend intensives
and workshops as part of her own music teaching enterprise. Regular performances, concerts
and jams are all part of her holistic approach to her music practice, working with beginners
and seasoned performers alike.
At the workshops Teresa will ober the following:
Repertoire Development:
6-7 new songs which Teresa Will teach from her existing repertoire.
Skills within the song learning
1. Chords, alternative voicings and barre chords.
2. Strumming patterns, fingerpicking where appropriate.
3. Solos, riffs and lead breaks for songs; skills and tabs
4. Musical conventions such as dynamics, tempos, intros and outros to take songs to the next level.
5. Singing skills: melody singing, harmonies, vocal technique and vocal
warm-ups.
Workshops will aim at bringing these songs to performance level. At the completion of the workshops there will be the option to perform your new songs.
