It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry, beloved husband, father, brother and friend who passed away peacefully after a short illness at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 70 years.Online Obituary:

Terry was born in Red Deer, Alberta and moved to Erskine, Alberta in grade one then moved to Blackfalds, Alberta where he was involved in many sports especially hockey. He attended and graduated high school at Lacombe Composite High School. He then graduated with distinction from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1974 with a diploma in Steel Detailing. He worked 10 years for the architectural firm Abugov and Sunderland before becoming self-employed. Terry ran a successful lighting agency for 35 years and many of his customers became lifelong friends.
Terry met the love of his life Cathy in Red Deer in 1972 and they were married in 1977. They raised two wonderful sons and shared many adventures and traveled together. Terry was a very giving person and before having children of his own, he volunteered as an Uncle at Large for a young boy in Calgary. His love of hockey led him to coach his son Blake and others for years in the Thorncliffe Greenview Community. He continued to play Oldtimers hockey until his late 50’s and loved the companionship as much as the game.
Terry is survived by his wife Cathy (nee Neuman), sons Trevor (Jared) and Blake (Veruska), sisters Faye, Brenda (Art) and his grandchildren Ash and Ivy. He is predeceased by his loving parents Norman and Mable Ellestad (nee Jaffray).
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the medical staff at both the South Texas Medical Center in McAllen, Texas and at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary.
