Session Descriptions
Epigenetics, Microbiome and Breastfeeding: how does epigenetics play into baby's growth before and after birth; how can we impact our gut health; where does breastfeeding fit into all this?
Motivational Interviewing -this communication technique allows each client to reveal her unique situation; LC responds in a way that includes open ended questions, affirmations, reflections, summaries.
Our Featured Speaker:
Barbara Robertson received her Masters degree in Education specializing in Curriculum Development in 1995. As the Director of the Breastfeeding Center of An Arbor, Barbara teaches breastfeeding classes, runs support groups, trains professionals and is in private practice as an LC. She has developed a 90 hour course for lactation professionals, and a 20 hour training for hospital staff. She was an Associate Editor for the journal Clinical Lactation and is now a regular contributor.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, midwives, ob and pediatric hospital and office nurses, lactation consultants, breastfeeding counselors, LLL leaders, WIC peer counselors, doulas and others who assist the breastfeeding family.
