May "First Friday" Program
Theme: Historic Woodworking and Smokey Bear Meet & Greet
May's First Friday program will be held on May 2, 2025 from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Our First Friday program offers a free, fun and educational lesson with a take home craft or activity for children on the first Friday of the month.
During May's program, members of the Tennessee Division of Forestry will demonstrate traditional woodworking methods including shingle making and a 2-person crosscut saw. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet with the U.S. Forest Service's Smokey Bear and learn from members of the Tennessee Division of Forestry.
While we welcome all ages at the museum, this program is best suited for ages 5-12 years old.
Space is limited, and are on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are required to attend.
**PLEASE NOTE: Reservations must be made on a parent-by-parent basis and reserving spaces for another family or a group is prohibited. Please ensure all steps are completed to confirm your reservation. Please be aware that reservations are not complete until a confirmation email is sent back to you. **Cancellations: If you need to cancel your reservation, we kindly ask that you give at least a 48 hour notice if possible. This will allow us to reach out to other families who may be on the waiting list. Thank you!
