The City of Edmonton’s Tenant Support Program helps individuals build capacity and be better informed about their rights and obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). By providing valuable resources and guidance, the program aims to empower tenants with the knowledge they need to navigate their tenancy effectively.
The Tenant Empowerment Basics Course helps tenants understand their rights and responsibilities under the RTA, ensuring they can address issues proactively and avoid potential conflicts. The goal is to ensure more Edmontonians can maintain stable housing, fostering a more secure and supportive community for all residents.
Presenter Information
Bryan Sali is a Tenant Support Liaison with the City of Edmonton's Affordable Housing and Homelessness Section. In his role he educates Edmontonians about their rights and responsibilities as a tenant in Alberta. Bryan comes from a background in the nonprofit sector where he helped to secure housing for people in a chronic cycle of homelessness and incarceration. Working with his clients taught him a lot about patience, non-judgement, and human resilience. His greatest joy in life is being a father and hopes that when his daughter is old enough he can share his other passion with her, scuba diving.
