UK power trio TEMPLETON PEK return to the musical fray with the frantic earworm of a new single “SAVAGES.” Taken from a brand-new album coming soon of the same name, the band are back and they have something to say.
“It’s been a long time since we released music, and we didn’t want to come back with anything less than the strongest material possible. ”Savages” is the perfect advert for what to expect from the new album. It’s big, it’s loud, and it isn’t afraid to say what it thinks.” Explained vocalist/bassist Neal Mitchell.
Produced and mixed by George Perks (Enter Shikari, Skindred) at Vada Studios in their hometown of Birmingham, and mastered by Andy ‘Hippy’ Baldwin (Oasis, The Who) of legendary Metropolis studios in London UK.
“Savages” explores the complexity of human nature and is written from two different perspectives, the left and right side of the political spectrum, reacting to world events with each side proclaiming to either “Break out the guns!” or “Move with the times!” Reflecting on Human nature as a whole: "Is this the best we have?.... surely we're more than savages!"
Birmingham-based Templeton Pek are a seasoned touring band. They have toured with The Offspring, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Sum 41, NOFX, Alkaline Trio, Lagwagon, Millencolin, Zebrahead, Ignite, Pennywise and many more touring mainland Europe and the UK including festival appearances at Punk Rock Holiday (sl), Slam Dunk (uk), Jera On Air (nl), Brakrock (bel), Mighty Sounds (cz), Rebellion (uk) Open Flair (de), Monster Bash (de), Taubertal (de) to name a few.
2024 started with a bang touring the UK with Hell is for Heroes, culminating in a sell out Electric Ballroom in London. And with songs “Perfect Storm” and “Savages” gathering momentum on radio and streaming platforms like Apple Music’s Hard Rock playlist and Kerrang! daytime, the band are building towards a release designed to be their biggest to date.
**Third Ego**
From the troubled mind with its compulsive thinking comes Third Ego. Formed in Amsterdam, they blend a dark side with a lust for life into surprisingly catchy melodies
In early 2020 four seasoned punkrock veterans got together in the depths of Amsterdam’s Vondelbunker. While the world outside got layered under a gloomy blanket, they crafted their sound accordingly. Bringing influences from the roaring 80’s to the boisterous ‘90, Third Ego encapsulates decades of punk and rock.
Jean Morreau’s singing paints a feeling of repentance, backed by the tuneful guitar of Jeroen Blom, Rene ten Brink’s robust bass and Edwin van Voorbergen’s clockwork drumming. Their songs crystalize deepfelt emotions. Although the feelings may fleet, the impressions they left are now carved in permanently.
Together with Menno Bakker, third ego recorded 12 songs in the Amsterdam Recording Company studio. Menno Wittebrood provided the artwork, which goed hand in hand with the music to create a very own atmosphere. A record which you will want to listen to over and over again.
