Alpha is a series of group conversations that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment, located right in the heart of Temple Quay. Everyone’s welcome. No matter your background or beliefs, you’re invited.
Our twilight alpha course starts, straight after you finish work. We provide food, a short video presentation, and an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and views.
Alpha is a 10 week course that enables you to explore the basics of the Christian faith. Every week looks at a different topic and there is always an opportunity for conversation and discussion.
Each week of the course follows a natural progression, and you can come as little or as often as you like, and if you come for a few weeks and decide alpha isn’t for you, then there is no pressure for you to return.
Our ‘twilight’ alpha course is designed for you to come along straight from work and before you head home. We provide food so there is no need to worry about your evening meal.
The format for each session is as follows -
- Food - Arrive between 5:15pm and 5:45pm and grab some food, all dietary requirements can be catered for.
- Video - Watch a short 30 minute video on a different topic each week as we eat together.
- Discussion - The best bit about alpha is sharing your views and perspectives on the video and hearing the views of others. In fact if you don’t want to say anything there is no pressure at all, just listen to everyone else.
- Close - We aim to finish around 7pm each week.
Just to let you know, alpha is completely free so there is nothing to pay.
The course is taking place at the Temple Quay Chaplaincy Hub on the prayer barge moored at the bottom of the steps outside 'The Double Puc' cafe at the base of the Eye Apartment building in Temple Quay (BS2 0DW). You can see the barge from the Valentine Bridge (the bendy pedestrian bridge!)
