After the wildly popular Midsummer Jr. the past two summers, Atlanta Shakespeare returns with new show to introduce young people to Shakespeare’s language and characters. Tempest Jr. is a 45-minute version of the comic tale of Prospero, a deposed duke turned sorcerer, as he orchestrates events on a deserted island with magical creatures. The performance is filled with audience interaction as the story is told by 4 charming and energetic professional actors who utilize sound effects, live music, and… puppets! – to make the festivities fun and engaging.
