Telling Stories - Artists Talk
Join us for an exciting event at 13FOREST Gallery where artists will share the inspiration behind major public art projects that shine a light on local history and commemorate the landmark anniversary of the Revolutionary War battles of Menotomy, Lexington, and Concord.
Hear firsthand from the artists themselves in this intimate artists’ talk and get a glimpse into the creative process behind the art works featured in 13 Forest’s exhibition “Untold Stories”. Participants include:
- Cecily Miller, public arts curator for ArtsArlington
- Liz Shepherd and Suzanne Moseley, who designed silk screen banners for Arlington Center exploring the theme of people, plants and revolution
- Nilou Moochhala, who created a timeline that connects 25 historic events to contemporary stories
- Chris Frost, who created "Stepping Up", featuring sculptural pedestals paying tribute to the ordinary Arlingtonians swept up in the war for independence
- Asia Kepka, an Arlington photographer who created portraits of resident on the pedestals
Sponsored by the Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture.
