This yoga is aimed for early teen age children with deeper stretches, longer holds and bigger challenges.. This is an age where lots of hormonal changes can occur preparing teens as they transition into a different rhythm of adult hormones. It can be a time of children feeling awkward, anxious and generally struggling with their changing bodies. Deeper stretches and longer holds promote flexibility and more disciplined focus for this age group to achieve nervous system regulation, and acceptance of self. Variations are able to be provided for different levels of flexibility , strength and challenges allowing the child to check in with themselves and find the most appropriate variation for themselves. This encourages self awareness and confidence in their bodies needs. Parents will not take part with children in class but can enjoy a hot beverage in the coffee snug next door.
