About this Event
Step into a world of vibrant illumination at our Teen Glow Party – the ultimate alternative to a traditional school dance!
This event is specially crafted for teens and tweens with special needs/disabilities and their youth-aged family members and friends, providing an inclusive and sensory-friendly environment.
Picture a space transformed into a dazzling spectacle with neon lights and glow-in-the-dark decorations and featuring a youth-curated playlist ranging from the latest hits to timeless favorites. It's not just a dance; it's an opportunity to socialize, forge new friendships and for everyone to shine!
Participant Criteria:
- TVCC clients and their siblings, cousins, and friends (ages 12+ yrs)
- Interest and willingness to participate in social dance
- Able to participate safely in a group setting; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
Youth are welcome to bring any adaptive equipment or support items to support their participation (i.e. noise reducing headphones, comfort items)
This program is hosted by TVCC Horizon’s Youth Services and the TVCC Wellness Project. The Wellness Project is a three-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help. We're running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
