This Teen Girls' Self-Defense class empowers girls to learn self-defense techniques. The course is suitable for ages 12- 17 and will be taught by Professor Katie, a jiu-jitsu black belt.The course will cover non-verbal and verbal boundary setting, physical boundary setting, and effective self-defense techniques.
We will have an open discussion about sensitive topics and the course will contain strong and specific language to address women's self-defense situations. Katie believes in using proper naming and vocabulary for this course and wants parents/guardians to be aware.
Young women aged 12-17 will require a parent/guardian signature to participate but can attend by themselves. Female guardians are welcome to attend if desired. No equipment is needed; wear comfortable workout clothing, preferably shirts with sleeves to avoid mat burn and compression style shorts or pants and bring a water bottle.
