We recognize how important it can be for teens to have a safe place to express themselves and find others with similar interests. Our Teen Art Club offers a place for teens to collaborate an learn together without the pressure of grades. This program is specially designed to push your teen's art to the next level, helping them prepare for college portfolio entries, and creating opportunities for community-based collaborative projects. Students will be given guidance in their own creative pursuits, as well as in group projects.
Students are encouraged to attend weekly, however, students are welcome to attend occasionally, as they are able. Mediums/skills may include any of the following on any given day: drawing, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, collage, mosaics, pottery (in our Cat Clay studio), fiber arts, oil pastels, printmaking, cyanotypes, sculpture, mixed-media, photography, mural painting, collaborative projects, etc.
For most class days, your teen may leave with a project. However, depending on their creative goals, they may also work on a project over multiple weeks. Some projects may also be group projects that the students will work on as a team.
Students should be dropped off/arrive at the Catalyst classroom within 15 minutes before and after each class day.
Items to bring each day:
-Layered clothing (suitable for paint and similar messy materials), as the temperatures may fluctuate in our large building
-Spill-proof water bottle
-Non-messy snack, if needed
