Admission is FREE as a part of SMOA’s monthly program “Come Find Art!”
Join us in the Terrace Room for an afternoon of honoring Tecumseh’s legacy as a warrior who served his community. We will be joined by several descendants of Tecumseh visiting from Oklahoma and Kansas. They will share their rich stories as Shawnee Tribal citizens, and what it means to visit their homelands. We will also offer a presentation about Shawnee history in the area, specifically, the town of Pekowi where research has pointed to this site as Tecumseh’s birthplace.
Also, guitarist Dhalton Horsman (Shawnee Tribe) of the band, A Tribe of Horsman will set the vibes with his musical talents.
